Happy New Year friends! We are honored to share a small portion of the HUGE impact we made in 2024. No doubt 2025 brings more exciting opportunities like Maternal Health Awareness Day on January 23rd.
Let’s jump into what’s new and noteworthy in Arizona🌵!
🎉2024 Community Collaborations = BIG Impact
In 2024 it is clear that collaboration was key to furthering our mission to transform AZ’s Perinatal Mental Healthcare (PMH) desert into an adequate, equitable statewide network that promotes awareness, reduces stigma and provides informed PMH.
In 2024 Arizona became the 1st state where AHCCCS (State Medicaid) can identify the number of in-network Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C) providers. Since that landmark accomplishment, we more than DOUBLED the number of PMH-Cs who are in network with AHCCCS thanks to the TI 2.0 Incentive Program and the 291 scholarships PSI-AZ awarded!
ICYMI, we cohosted the second-ever BIPOC only PSI Certification Training with Arizona Birthworkers of Color.
Additionally, we WILDLY expanded our Perinatal Mental Health workforce capacity realizing 22% growth!
From breaking barriers in underserved communities to providing essential training for perinatal care workers, this year’s achievements are a testament to the strength of our community. We were humbled to accept the “Courage in Action” award for our efforts advancing mental health in Arizona.

🏜️Arizona’s Maternal Child Health Needs Assessment
In December 2025, the Arizona Department of Health Services presented the initial findings of the recent Arizona Maternal and Child Health Needs Assessment with support from the assessment implementation teams—Diné College, ITCA, UofA MEZCOPH, and Lenartz Consulting. The assessment takes a broad look spanning social determinants of health, mental health, childcare, stigma and more.
