AZ Adds Additional State-Certified Doulas
The list of doula organizations that are approved by the Arizona Department of Health Services to become a state-certified doula was recently updated.
Arizona has five possible pathways for individuals to voluntarily become state-certified doulas:
Pathways 1, 2, and 3 require the completion of core competencies, or related individualized or experiential training or education.
Pathway 4 requires proof of current certification from the approved doula organization list.
Pathway 5 is a legacy/experience pathway for doulas who have been practicing in the state for at least five years.

We still have exam scholarships and continue to prioritize providers of color, providers who serve less populous counties, AHCCCS in-network providers.
