Are you ready to make a meaningful local impact this year?
🗓️ We’re counting down the days until AZ Gives Day - Tuesday April 2nd. Every year, Arizona Give Day is a success because the community comes together in generosity for our single-largest day of giving. Participation is key! PSI-AZ Chapter made huge impacts in 2023 and we’re keeping the momentum going, continuing to advance health equity in 2024:
2023 Impact: Historic BIPOC-only Perinatal Mental Health Training: In collaboration with Arizona Birthworkers of Color, we hosted the first-ever training dedicated to BIPOC providers, boosting a 46% increase in Arizona Maternal Mental Health Providers of Color. *2024 GOAL* - Boost the number of Arizona Providers of Color by another 46% through co-hosting the same training again in April 2024.
2023 Impact: Over 200 Scholarships Awarded: Thanks to support from AZ Department of Health Services, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona Foundation, and Potter's Hand Foundation, we've made significant strides in education and support. *2024 GOAL* - Award at least 400 Scholarships - prioritizing 1) rural providers, 2) providers of color and 3) providers who accept AHCCCS.
2023 Impact: Birthing Justice Film Screening: A successful event co-hosted with Arizona Birthworkers of Color and the Cihuapactli Collective. *2024 GOAL* - Host the inaugural BIPOC Networking Mixer cultivating deeper community relationships and spark conversations that morph into innovative solutions, advancing maternal health equity in Arizona
✨2024 is brimming with potential. We can’t wait to see how PSI - AZ Chapter supporters across the state will join together to make a positive difference.
“Every pregnancy and birth create two windows of opportunity to improve outcomes – one for the mom and one for the child. Unlike with many other issues, interventions that improve maternal mental health outcomes pay dividends across two or more generations.”
— Perigee Fund, Dec 2022
Private philanthropic support is fundamental to PSI Arizona’s Mission, Vision and the goals. We are actively transforming Arizona’s perinatal mental health desert into an oasis of equitable, accessible and informed care providers.
How will you contribute? Will you help Arizona families and give to the PSI’s Arizona Chapter on Tuesday, April 2nd? On this day, every penny makes a difference.
Be sure to follow PSI’s Arizona Chapter on your favorite social media channel. We’ll continue to post resources, events and important Arizona topics of conversation on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
